The Beginning of the End: Brit Robson Wins
Laura Robson, the 14-year-old who won today's girls' title at Wimbledon, can pretty much forget about the rest of her life. The British media will smother her. She had already appeared on the front page of today's London Times, and the BBC actually showed the remainder of her match after the women's final. As my respected colleague Chris Clarey of the New York Times said, it's almost a form of child abuse. The best thing that could have happened to Robson is to have lost. Too late for that. But I will say this: She has shown a great deal of composure and maturity in her press conferences.
